São Tomé and Príncipe is an island nation in the Gulf of Guinea, located directly on the centre of planet Earth. During around 5 months of living on this island, I volunteered for the surf therapy program “SOMA Surf” for girls from the small surf village called “Santana.”
I captured the spirits of the surfers and people within that community. We shared some waves, meals, and lots of laughs. I made new friends, memories and a new home where I definitely will go back to.
With these pictures, I hope you can see how special this place and its people are and how close I hold them to my heart. I am deeply grateful towards the people for their trust in me to capture them in their purest way.
